Friendly, professional and helpful staff. The optician clearly explains the various pieces of equipment he uses. When he found an issue at the back of one of my eyes and had to refer me to my doctors and the hospital he clearly explained why and what would happen next. This time they suggested just having my lenses changed rather than buy new frames. When the lenses arrived it only took a few minutes to put into my existing fames.

I’d always rather deal with an independent business and Oakes Opticians is top class. They don’t have endless walls of frames either, which I prefer. Just a good and varied selection on style and price. Highly recommended.

Every aspect of the service offered at Oakes is excellent. Emma ordered in a range of frames when I didn’t find anything in the shop I liked. Mr Arshad is always so thorough with the eye test and when I collected my new glasses Bushra spent ages making fine adjustments to the fitting to ensure the best possible vision. I’d recommend this team to anyone needing new glasses, especially if you have a complicated prescription.

Excellent service. I have a complex lens prescription and was fitted with Gas Permeable lenses. Perfect fit and vision 1st time, with other opticians it’s usually taken a couple of changes to get the perfect fit. Very friendly and helpful staff and my vision is superb. Thank you team Oakes!

After seeing the same optician all my life I’d been given a pair of glasses that were blurred in one eye. Retests showed their test results were the same prescription. I couldn’t drive with a blurred eye!!……I went to Oakes for a third opinion and I have new varyfocals. I can see clearly, drive and read. I’ve not had these off on and had to get used to them. I’ve kept them on all the time and I can’t believe the difference. The service given was very professional and I was listened to. So I now have a new opticians………see you soon!!! X
